Billing Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • • Complete monthly billing authorizations for contracted counties
  • • Works on special billing projects as assigned by the Finance Director in conjunction with other billing responsibilities
  • • Reviews financial portion of contracts to verify accuracy of rates and billing terms
  • • Understands and can verify billing codes in conjunction with county requirements
  • • Communicates with in-house clinical team on documentation to ensure proper billing
  • • Responds efficiently and accurately to denials received and ensures necessary information is obtained and resubmitted as quickly as possible 
  • • Communicate regularly with county employees regarding billing issues or concerns
  • • Submit, document, and file clinical billing
  • • Complete paper billings (if needed)
  • • Maintain a positive, open relationship with management and staff
  • • Utilize all communication tools including FIN
  • • Educate, train, and advocate for all Flatrock residents’ rights
  • • Complete any additional task assigned from the Finance Director

May involve travel to other locations/agencies/meetings. May require evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Qualifications:

  • • Must have Two years of experience in a billing role 
  • • Understanding of accounting software such as QuickBooks
  • • Strong computer skills
  • • Ability to be productive without oversight
  • • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • • Strong written and communication skills
  • • Basic understanding of office software and machinery
  • • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • • Great time management skills
