Occupational Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• • Perform skill acquisition assessments (ADLs and IADLs)
  ‍
• • Develop skill acquisition goals and intervention plans (ADLs and IADLs)
  ‍
• • Perform sensory assessments
  ‍
• • Develop sensory therapy goals and intervention plans
  ‍
• • Perform adaptive assessments and make professional recommendations
  ‍
• • Attend program trainings, person centered planning trainings, and behavior management review committee as needed
  ‍
• • Maintain written record of assessments, interventions, and progress towards goals
  ‍
• • Consult with provider and treatment team regarding policies and procedures in clinical care
  ‍
• • Consult with psychiatrist and other medical professionals as needed to coordinate medication with treatment plans
  ‍
• • Attend group outings as available
  ‍
• • Attend clinician and management trainings as required
  ‍
• • Report daily activities to direct supervisor
  ‍
• • Flexibility and commitment to work the hours and times required to perform the responsibilities of the job, including evenings and weekends as may be necessary
  ‍
• • Maintain a positive, open relationship with all management and staff
  ‍
• • Utilize all communication tools including FIN
  ‍
• • Maintain and advocate for all Flatrock residents’ rights
  ‍
• • Complete any additional tasks assigned from Clinical Supervisor

May involve travel to other locations/agencies/meetings. May require evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

Qualifications: 

• BS degree with a major in Occupational Therapy
• Current, valid license in the State of Michigan
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
• Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
